Downloadable documents for you!
Did your students make some 4s last year?

Get them published!  Send copies to Gretchen, along with this
permission-to-publish form (signed by parents and students).

So many teachers have discovered the power of real,
live mentor texts in the form of student-written
score-point-four papers.  We've shared a number of
4s on my web site, but over and over, I've heard
teachers say that someone should just put together a
huge
collection of fours!  I agree.  And if nobody else
will publish such a thing, we will.

The anthology will include student-written fours (and
focused craft lessons) at all the grades tested (4, 7, 10
and 11), from any year.  We will publish the names of
the student authors, which means that we will only
publish papers accompanied by permission slips
(student and parent).  Copies of the anthology will be
made available at low cost (yet to be determined) to
the public, and complimentary copies will be sent to the
authors and their teachers.

It's a painless way for students to become published
authors:  they've already done the work!  And writers
across the state will benefit from their talent, craft, and
effort.
